CREATING YOUTUBE.
Like my articles about e-bay---I am taking the time out to give credit to the creator of youtube. Creating a new technology on the internet like Youtube is simply amazing. The odd part of it is, that I am older than the creators of this phenomenon called youtube. I have always known that to be happy in life----one has to be passionate in what he is doing...and the rewards (like a billion dollar company like youtube) will eventually follow. These new technologies on the internet like youtube, google and ebay were all created by young people. My theory on this is....that young people still have so much passion in what they do and have no concept yet of the responsibilities of the world settling in haha. (just a thought). So we only have to find our inner passion in us and I believe everything will follow. enjoy the article.

It's interesting that young people are developing these billion dollar companies and I think there is some merit to your comment that they don't yet know responsibility or feeling stuck in a job or path. Some students I've come across in observation however are seemingly unmotivated with the thought,"I'm just a teenager what can I do?" One teacher initiated a discussion about whether or not the teens felt they could help or work for a cause after reading A Long Way Gone. The majority of the response was tht they felt helpless. Interestring. Though, I'm also thinking of a book Outliers in which the author talkes about 10,000 hours of practice. I believe it's 10,000 hours... in any case, people who are really successful at something like skateboarding or computers have hit 10,000 hours of practice. Maybe young people are developing these billion dollar companies becuase they have 10000 hours to practice with it and it doesn't feel like practice because they want to be on the computer. Lots of interesting things to consider. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteYour topic is funny but true. A lot of young students who are "board" in school create wonderful things from simple ideas. YouTube and Facebook are more then likely the most recognizable examples. Wonderful ideas and thoughts Ryan.
ReplyDeleteYes i agree that younger kids definitely have more passion and energy into their ideas which sometimes causes them to come up with these awesome new ideas like YouTUbe! I just wish i would have thought of it first!
